Introduced by American Leather in 2000, The Comfort Sleeper mattress has the same dimensions as a standard bed, allowing for true sizing. This allows an 80" x 60" king mattress to fit inside a 74"-wide sofa. Since it's launch twenty five years ago, American Leather has added such enhancements as a solid outside back, zero wall proximity and a lighter mechanism. Its 41/2" high mattress sits on a solid wood base, eliminating uncomfortable metal bars across a person's back. The absence of exposed metal frames around the mattress perimeter improves safety and design appeal. Available in true sizes (king, queen, twin, full, and cot), the Tiffany 24/7 convertible mechanism allows the mattresses to be 80 inches long - five to eight inches longer than conventional sleepers. It requires 10" less floor space in front of the sofa to open it, making it practical for smaller living areas.
